C.J. Miller
Executive Senior Editor
Milton, Louisiana

For 3 years, everyone has been wondering what C.J. stands for. Can you tell us?
C.J. stands for Cody Jude

What do you do as “Executive Senior Editor”?
Basically, as our EIC Kenzie Schott says, I’m CEO of Junior Associates. From the Write-On Competition to planning Orientation to guiding the JAs through the writing process, it’s all in my job description. Being able to see the topics that the JAs come up with through to their final product, I definitely think I have one of the most rewarding jobs.

What has been your favorite class?
Hands down, Civil Law Property (hence my riveting soon-to-be-published article on acquisitive prescription of a predial servitude).

What is the last thing you recorded on TV?
As I’m still old school and behind the times, I’ve yet to invest in a DVR. My current Netflix binge, however, is Friday Night Lights.

What is your favorite book?
I’m really not into favorites per se, but I do love a good political thriller.

What three items would you take on a deserted island?
(1) A case of lighters; (2) A case of books; and (3) A case of fishing poles.

Do you collect anything?
Useless knowledge? I’m preparing for my day on Jeopardy.

Which of your five senses is strongest?
Probably my taste…when you grow up in Cajun Country, you get a lot of practice with that one.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?
“WARNING: Always enjoys talking religion and politics.”

What is one fact that everyone should know about you?
A little bit of coffee will always put me in a good mood.

What do you prefer: the Civil Code or the Common Law?
Let’s put it this way, even if I had to choose between the Revised Statutes and the Civil Code, I would always choose the Code.
